This guide provides an overview of the system’s Accidents & Incidents Tracking and Medication Exports features for educational settings, supporting student safety and regulatory compliance. It explains how to manage and securely report:
- Accidents in the Setting: Recording accidents that occur on school/setting premises.
- Accidents in the Home: Logging accidents reported by parents or guardians to maintain complete safeguarding and care records.
- Incidents: Tracking behavioural events, near misses, or safeguarding concerns requiring administrative review.
- Medication Administered: Recording the time, dose, and signatures for each medication given to maintain a clear audit trail.
- Planned Medications: Managing medication schedules, dosages, and parental consent for ongoing or short-term needs.

You will need to be on the browser version of Tapestry as a staff member, and have either the Care Diary or Accidents & Medication Only feature enabled.
Accidents in setting overview & export
To view accident records for incidents that happened in the setting, go to Planning & Monitoring → Care Diary/Accidents & Medication → Accidents in Setting.
Choose either a date range or a month picker to decide which records you want to view.
Select Filters in the top-right corner if you want to narrow the results by status or search for a specific child.
Once your results are displayed, review the table. It may include the following information:
- Date & Time
- Child Name
- Accident Details
- First Aid
- First Aiders
- Additional info
- Created by
- Approval Status
- Relative Signee
- Date relative signed off
Use the slide bar or arrows at the foot of the table to view columns not displayed.
When you are ready, choose Export Table as CSV or PDF Export to download the records as required.
Accidents at home overview & export
To view accident records for incidents that happened at home, go to Planning & Monitoring → Care Diary → Accidents at Home.
Choose either a date range or a month picker to decide which records you want to view.
Select Filters in the top-right corner if you want to narrow the results.
Once your results are displayed, review the table. It may include the following information:
- Date & Time
- Child Name
- Accident Details
- First Aid
- Reported by
- Additional info
- Created by
- Approval Status
- Relative Signee
- Date relative signed off

Once your results are displayed, review the table. It may include the following information:
