App walk-through

In this tutorial we’ll take a look through Tapestry’s app.

This is currently available on iOS and Android devices that are running  iOS 15.6+ and Android 8+ respectively. A version of the app for Fire devices is also available for devices running Fire OS 7+. You can download these from the relevant Apple App, Google Play and Amazon App stores by searching for ‘Tapestry Childhood Education Platform’ or ‘Tapestry Education Platform’.

To check your device’s compatibility please take a look at this post, and if you need any help in choosing a device we have this guide.

Please note, the rest of this walk-though will be exactly the same across iOS and Android devices.

If you’re logging into an account for the first time, you’ll need to enter your email and password to login, and then you’ll be taken through the following device set up screens. For information on how to switch between accounts on the app please take a look at this tutorial

The first page you’ll be taken to for the device set up will ask you if the device you’re using is your own for sole use, or whether you’re sharing the device with others. Make the appropriate selection.

You’ll next be asked if you want to enable push notifications on the device.

If you said that it was your own sole device, notifications will be toggled on by default. Or if you  selected Shared device then notifications will be toggled off by default. In either case, if you’d like to change the setting from the default then you can do so using the slider.

Click Save preferences. If you’re setting up push notifications you’ll then be prompted to allow this within your device’s settings.

Finally, you’ll be asked if you want to enable biometrics for logging in (if your device supports this) such as Face or Fingerprint ID.

Again, if you’ve said this is your own sole device then biometrics will be toggled on by default. or if you said this was a shared device then biometrics will be toggles off by default. You can click the slider to change the setting.

Once you’re happy with the setting click Save preferences.

Your device is now set up, and you’ll be taken through to the main Observations page now and every time you log back in.

If you leave the app, lock your phone, or select “Lock Screen” from the account settings, next time you come back to the Tapestry app you will see the PIN screen.

From here you can simply input your 4 digit PIN to regain access. If you have biometrics enabled, you will be given this option as well.

Features on the app

Whilst the Tapestry app does not include all the Tapestry features which you can access via the browser, you can now access the following features:

(Relatives can also access their invoices via the app)

Depending on which of these features you have enabled, you can access some of them via the task bar at the bottom.
